Awesome Cancer Vaccine Reaches Human Safety Trials
A while ago Gizmodo wrote about a miracle drug that cures cancer by shielding a protein marker on cancer cells that keeps the immune system from attacking them. Now this breakthrough medication is being called ImMucin and as official entered Human Saftey Trials. Although the two ideas are coming from different names and are blocking different protein flags, its a cool time to be alive. Below are some quotes.
“ImMucin, a vaccine that targets a molecule present in 90 percent of all cancers, has been tested on humans for the first time, according to researchers who found that all the blood cancer patients tested in the trial had greater immunity to the disease after receiving the drug.”

Figuring Out Marvel and The Avengers
Trying to figure out Marvel comics. Never really understood the complexity before. So many story arcs, so many versions of a super hero…its difficult to tie in everything! I’m starting with the book “Marvels” and the Marvel encyclopedia. Also reading “Avengers vs. X-Men” which seems to seed from “The New Avengers” (Volume 2) in which Bucky somes times plays Captain America (while the Captain is recovering from the Civil War). The “Secret Avengers” are a black ops force that works along side the official team of Avengers who live in the Avengers mansion lead by Nick Fury.
“Mighty Avengers” seems to happen before the Civil War with the lead up being the first 4 volumes of the avengers starting in the 60s. The Avengers disband after the Scarlet Witch goes crazy and destroys the avengers mansion. The New Avengers Volume 1 happens sometime in between the disbanding of the first avengers team, and the “Mighty Avengers” (caused by the separation of the team by the Super Human Registration Act). All of that is before the Civil War. One could say, the “Mighty Avengers” are a thread off the main story line of “The New Avengers” as they deal with Tony Stark and MS. Marvel creating a new team. “The New Avengers Volume 2” Happens after the civil war where the Secret Avengers (Captain America) and the Avengers (Nick Fury) are made. Iron Man and Thor are left out of the gangs as “consultants”. The New Avengers story line is still going on today and leads into Avengers vs. X-Men.
Iron Man, my favorite super hero has a series of volumes. From volume 1 to 4, Iron Man goes through several sets of armor and story arcs. In volume 4 after being almost destroyed by a nano-tech enhance foe, Iron Man injects the Extremis virus into his system which lets him interact with the armor by thinking. In the after-math of the Disassembled Line, particularly ”Stark: Disassembled”, Tony is forced to put in a repulser generator disk in his chest, which makes him more cyborg than human as it allows him to directly interface with the armor (Extremis was removed). I’m a little confused as to how the Invincible Iron Man fits in. Is that the real title starting from the beginning of the 1st volume by Stan Lee? The Wikipedia page starts with the Stein Son and the 5 nightmares.

Marvels (Marvel Premiere Classic) by Kurt Busiek, Alex Ross - How to Get Started in the Marvel Universe
Getting started in the Marvel universe seems like an incredibly impossible challenge. There ware so many stories involving the same super heros with entirely different scenarios it is hard to know where to start from. When the “New Universe” and “Ultimate Marvel” universe were released, the Marvel Universe went through a refresh and the book above is a beautiful graphic novel (less comic book) that explores the beginning of the Marvel super heros from the perspective of a normal person. This is the BEST way to start in on Marvel comics. Start out with this, than move onto “Ultimate Marvel” comics.
